I take the phosphate soda......
"Fleet Phospho-Soda Solution
Generic name: sodium phosphates (SOE-dee-um FOS-fates)
Fleet Phospho-Soda Solution is used for cleansing the bowel before certain medical procedures. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
This medicine is a saline laxative. It works by pulling water from the body into the bowel, which helps to soften the stool and cause a bowel movement."
I have no problem taking it its the horror afterward,
I'm sure the capsule causes dehydration also, tearose.
Sandy thanks for the tip, I have polyps tho.
-
Thanks guys.........
I planned my vacation for afterwards, Nina, since I am unstable for 2 days afterward from dehydration. . I expect I'll get IV liquids this time.
-
you could say its helping a good cause, which it is.
Trying to end the ignorance surrounding the condition!

what your going through.

ajw4055,
there are causes other then epilepsy for seizures, toxicity and lack of oxygen are 2.
lolo I'm so glad to hear that.
The seizure induced from lack of 02 can be identified by a trained eye. Try to get specific info on your movements, even a video. Epileptic seizures for instance decrease in amplitude- that's from the book.
The movements become less forceful as the seizure wanes.
In my very amateur opinion you should be asking about the possibility of asystole.
http://www.nymc.edu/fhp/centers/syncope/va...l%20syncope.htm
"Blood pressure and heart rate may plummet precipitously, and asystole may occur. When this happens there is a rapid loss of central nervous system activity and often a dysinhibition of peripheral neurologic responses resulting in muscular movements mimicking a tonic-clonic seizure. "
Its important to understand that epilepsy can't be ruled out either and " Episodes of asystole and bradycardia have been documented as manifestations of left temporal lobe complex partial seizures. These patients experienced either dizziness or syncope. No sudden deaths were reported, but the possibility exists if asystole were to persist. The longest interval was 26 seconds."

I was Dx with epilepsy and I don't have it.
I have heart rhythm issues, but thats why I have heard about this stuff.

it sounds like neurocardiogenic syncope. what happens is an over reaction to raised bp. The brain considers the raise life threatening and drops the heart rate fast and low. This is a normal mechanisim- gone wrong. It might be that the med governs the rise in heart rate so that the brain accepts it.
I have NCS but did not look up any info on that med- so guessing.

possibly similar to me. I have NCS, there were many similarity's between you and I. I do not lose bowel or bladder tone, but certainly everything else. And I do have seizures. Seizures from lack of 02 present as throwing head back, arching back, arms and legs -tonic clonic, sometimes sounds.
I think you should buy this book.
Syncope: Mechanisms and Management (Hardcover)
by Blair P., MD Grubb (Author), Brian Olshansky (Author)
Its by drs for Drs and 99 dollars.
I'll bet it has the answers you need.
I am on Norpace, works GREAt for me.
good luck

I am with masumeh on that cognitive therapy. Since I had serious liver disease I would not take antidepressants. All medications are
a burden for a diseased liver. I went to http://www.recovery-inc.com/.
I can't say enough for it, it changed my life!
P.S. I say 'had' serious liver damage because I did the hepatitis C treatment which lowered the level of damage.

One day at a time, Pat. Don't carry fears about the future or any baggage from the past right now. Take one day at a time and you
will be able to tackle it.
Its a very scary thing contemplating cancer and chemo. Please try to stay in the moment- do the next right thing. Its so much easier that way.
Prayers any time you want..........
-
certainly not to much to ask- I'd like to know your first name.

Hi there , welcome and congratulations!
I have NCS and OH. (neurocardiogenic syncope and orthostatic hypotension) I did have both , but had no symptoms during my last pregnancy.

have a look ,and by all means tell your Dr.
-
good luck, please don't push yourself TOO hard.
-
Thanks for the update.
Give her our regards. You are probably holding it together very well because you know she needs you. As soon as she gets a break
you will probably be a wreck. Our babies come first.
Wishing you both a break........

Please lay him flat next time it stabilizes the BP. If he has neurocardiogenic syncope it can be dangerous to keep him upright. A faint can often be aborted if you lay down and a seizure can be induced by failure to become supine.
I'm tired- I'm sorry to be so brief but it is important.
I wish him luck with the new DR>!
-
I'm sorry, it appears the Dr. only got her side of the story. You might want to rectify that. Not so much to be a patient again but if you don't say something he will never know and she will have gotten away with it.

mine were 1000mg and ordered by the Dr. but purchased otc.
