emilyjh75
Hello everyone - I am new to the forum, and have been searching for some time on the internet some explanation for many symptoms I have suffered for a long time. I think I may have found it in POTS, but I am not sure if I should seek a doctor's opinion. The crux is, of course, that I can't afford to go to one anyway right now. But I'd like to describe my main symptoms and get some feedback as to whether I should even bring it up to my doctor. BTW, I printed out the symptom list and found I can identify almost 60% as those I experience. The main and most disruptive symptoms I have are:- faintness upon standing- vertigo when I close my eyes, usually while sitting with legs folded- general dizziness - neck and shoulder pain- restless legs- arrythmia and tachycardia (not often)- nausea and lack of appetite, feeling full- extreme and unusual intolerance to cold- blood pooling, esp. mottled skin in my hands and legs- numbness and tingling in hands and face, esp. after physical exertionThere are others, but these are the most prevalent. Do these sound like something that could relate to POTS or other disorders? Thanks for any input. Emily
ethansmom
It sounds like you have some of the symptoms that are prevalant with POTS patients, but I would definitely recommend locating a specialist that can diagnose or rule out this condition. It can be easy to confuse POTS symptoms with so many other disorders out there- o the other hand, you might be on the right track. MightyMouse
The symptoms you describe are NOT normal. You should see a doctor; and you may want to make it more likely you'll have a relatively good experience at the doctor's office by choosing from a select few doctors who understand this area of disorders. To link directly to the DINET's physician listing, use the following url:http://www.dinet.org/physicians.htmand, for the NDRF's physician listing, use the following url:http://www.ndrf.org/physicia.htmGood luck and do let us know the outcome!
