Gracefulprincess
I have about 6 moles that have started to bleed. I don't know what the deal is. Some of the moles i;ve had for a very long time and over time, especially the last few months they've grown and changed color, and are raised. the biggest one is one my leg and it used to be brown but now is starting to turn darker brown, black, and red. And the other day it started getting itchy, so i barely touch it, and it started bleeding. I know this isn't a pots problem, but has anyone had this happen to them? I know i should probably go to the dr's about it but i'm nervous about going.
morgan617
As Nina would say, get thee to a dermatologist! Moles that change in any way are nothing to ignore.....morgan
JenniferInOhio
I've had about 6 moles removed. Easy as pie. I've had bigger ones cut out and biopsied ~ they numb you first and you don't feel a thing. I just had a small one frozen off ~ nothing to it. Definitely go to the doctor ~ it's not as bad as you think!
dizzygirl
Hi.. In regards to your bleeding changing moles.. you really need to get them checked out... when I was 12.. i had a funky mole on my upper arm.. and it changed color.. and developed red rings around it.. and it too was raised... well I had that mole removed.. and the doctor told me that I it been left untreated any longer.. that it would have turned into skin cancer...I dont mean to alarm you... just wanted to share my experience.. as I am now.. the mole inspector!so yeah even your regular MD can check things out.. and go from there.. but it is wise to get it checked out.. especially if you have more then one funky mole thing going on.. Laura
Hmm, weird. I just started having that happen as well. I have two moles that got itchy then started to bleed over the last couple of weeks. Guess I'll have to get them checked out, I've been avoiding the thought! pamela
Weird? I had a spot on my leg that came I noticed about a week after I was in the hospital. It was a little itchy and I scratched it. It bled like crazy(excessivly due to blood thinners). Anyhow, the ER doc and my family practice said it must have been a infected hair. 11 weeks later it is bigger and raised, thick, but does not drain, itches sometimes, but it is pale unlike a regular mole. I have two other small spots that look the same. I thought it was a keloide that I hadn't noticed. Now I wonder. I will get a second opinion. Maybe its some reaction to a common med that we are on or a skin change due to the imbalances of our minerals, hormones or stuff.... Maybe to many MRIs,Cat Scans and Xray's pamela
melly4
Definitely get to a dermatologist. I have had 3 moles removed, 2 of which were basal cell carcinomas. Yes, "cancer" is a scary word, but it's a lot scarier if you don't get it treated early. And your moles might not be cancerous now, but they COULD be one day. I haven't had a problem since, and I go for my humiliating "full body exam" anually. No, it's not fun, but it makes me feel safer to have them examined. So, go consult a specialist. And, if you do need them removed, make sure they give you the novacaine WITHOUT the epinephrine. I swear, you have to tell them these things!! Gracefulprincess
I'm calling my dr tomorrow morning, and will hopefully be able to get in soon to see her.
goldicedance
Ditto with what everyone else has said. Call a dematologist or surgeon ASAP! You might wish to go to a plastic surgeon as well to ensure that any surgery you might need will not cause undue scarring. I had one mole removed on my arm that left a bad keloid. That probably could have been avoided if I went to a plastic surgeon. Good Luck!
pamela
Melly, thanks for the info concerning the epinephrine. I just remembered that it is standard to inject that mixture. That would have not been cool...Have a nice day

calypso
This happened to two or three of my moles before I got POTS. I had them lopped off just to be safe.Amy
becky
howdy, just thought i'd add a me too, i had a mole removed when i was 19, luckily it wasn't cancerous but again i was told had i left it longer it would have been, its easy to get them removed though. oh, about the plastic surgeon thing, when my mole was removed (just below my right shoulder on my chest) i developed a keloid scar, and i had a plastic surgeon who stitched my scar from the inside so that it would only be a tiny scar, unfortunately some people are predisposed to keloids, it's a genetic thing according to my dermatologist. good luck with it though and let us know how you get on. becks
Jenn202
I'll add to everyone elses post.. Go to a Dermatologist ASAP....It is good to go at least once a year for a check up. I have had numerous moles removed...its not a big deal at all....

morgan617
I am very fair skinned. All my pigmentation is in my moles. I do in fact call myself a holy moler. I have had lots of them removed for various reasons. Ugliness factor, pantyline irritant, and changing ones. My son is in the same boat. I had this little flaky itchy thing on my face and turned out it was early cancer, so they don't have to be big ugly mothers in order to have to be removed. It is such a simple procedure, and a good thing to do for yourself. As a holy moler, I also reccommend that other holy molers get checked periodically by a good derm. It's worth it. holymolermorgan

Gracefulprincess
Well everyone, i went to the dr this morning. The good news is that the mole that i thought was the big problem is nothing to worry about, but i do have 3 moles that i have to have removed, 2 of which i have to have biopsied (not sure if spelled right). There's these two moles on my shoulders, one i was concerned about, the other i really wasnt, so i don't know what to think. I'm going back to on Monday to get the moles removed and the biopsies done.

Just go get a checkup every year with your dermatologist to make sure nothing else starts looking suspicious. Good luck,Melly
