Brwneyedchica
I bought a new house and haven't posted in quite some time. I've been so exhausted and ill most of the time unfortunately. I've been missing alot of work, and had to withdrawl from the class I was going to take. I've had to withdrawl from classes the last few times i've tried to take them. I'm going to put school on hold for awhile, until I'm feeling better( i'm going for nursing). I have been seeing a gastroenterologist, my biggest problem has always been nausea and vomiting and more recently unceasing diarrhea and abdominal cramping. I've had a flexible sigmoidoscopy and an ultrasound of the bowel and gallbladder completed in the past few weeks. I also have a cardiologist, whom I haven't had to see since August. (I spent June and July in bed, I experienced severe nausea, SOB, sweatiness, walking made my heart race and my blood pressure increase from my normal 100/70 to around 166/90.) From what i've read, this specialist at the Cleveland Clinic seems very helpful. I work in Cleveland, and am thinking that perhaps I should see an actual POTS specialist, in addition to the other docs, especially since I work so close. I was diagnosed by a specialist in 2000, but had a hard time getting ahold of him when I needed him and thus haven't seen him in years. I can't imagine struggling like this just to get through the day and having a different solution being so close....
Guest tearose
I got tired from just hearing your story dear bwneyed! I feel your exhaustion! I am so sorry you have to drop out of school right now too. What a bummer! I hope the move makes your life easier. I do think you are right to change your priorities and get to the bottom of all these symptoms! I respect how hard it is to do when you feel so crummy too! I wish I knew the formula to make it happen sooner...Once you go through all the workup you should have a treatment plan and then get strong and then get yourself back to nursing school. I pray!As I have found, when we have major changes like the move you made, our unique bodies protest for longer than one would think...please allow more time to get stronger and hold on to your dreams. We are allowed to have dreams and expectations...we may have to adjust them but we don't have to abandon them!warm wishes, tearose
Miriam Poorman-Knox
I get tird just seeing all you do. To answer your question YES make an appointment with the dioc at Clevland Clinic. She is good, and my back up. You always need someone who knows you. Sounds like its been some time since you have been seen by a specialist. You owe this to yourself. We moved here almost 4 years ago and I still havn't finished unpacking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also it took me 20 years to get my bachelors had kids, etc. But only 4 for my mDivinity. Still am at home. avais1
Keep the faith brwneyedchica! Your story could have been written word for word by me. I think if you can see that doc at the Cleveland, it will do wonders. I too, had to take a year off from school last year, it was just too hard for me. But I am back in now, and doing okay. There is hope. Hang in there.
Brwneyedchica
Thanks guys!! It's so much easier to talk to people who know exactly how I feel, and how hard it is to do "normal" things sometimes. I'm going to call tomorrow and make an appt with the doc at the clinic. dream02
I'm glad you are going to make that appointment. I hope it is really helpful for you. I recently moved myself and know just how stressful it can be. I too have put a hold on school, I have a year down a year to go in my MBA program. Don't give up, I'm not. Best of luck with feeling better and getting a wonderful doctor!denise
